FOUNDER

Melissa McKinney

Founder & Director, Vision LLC

An entrepreneur for more than nine years, Melissa built Vision LLC by combining experience in business strategy, digital marketing, and brand development. She helps companies strengthen their brand presence while supporting musicians and creative professionals in building sustainable careers. Her work spans industries including music, hospitality, automotive, beauty, and logistics, with clients such as Zingerman’s, The Ark, Ford dealerships, hospitality groups, and music venues.

Before founding Vision LLC, Melissa served as an Operations Manager in the logistics industry, where she led pricing strategy, route development, contract negotiation, and operational decision-making while working with Fortune 500 companies. This experience shaped her expertise in strategic planning, negotiation, and business development, which she now brings to her work with artists and organizations.

Melissa is an active voice in marketing, speaking on panels at the FARM Folk Alliance Region Midwest Music Conference and women’s conferences focused on leadership and purpose-driven careers. She also served as a judge for Neutral Zone’s teen Battle of the Voices competition, reflecting her commitment to giving back to her community. Melissa is an official member of Women in Music, supporting advocacy, education, and opportunities for the next generation of music professionals.

Her background in music began early. Melissa sang in choir at four years old and later became a classically trained trumpet player from seventh through twelfth grade. She also performed as a singing artist, shaping her understanding of the music industry and her work supporting artists through Vision LLC.

Melissa attended the University of Michigan, where she continues to expand her academic and professional pursuits alongside her work as a founder and strategist. Outside of her work, she enjoys traveling, discovering new food and coffee spots, exploring nature, and spending time with her two daughters. She is passionate about faith, music, culture, and helping creative people bring their vision to life.
